PU Wheels

CI-Polyurethane Wheels

Cast iron core wheels with a bonded polyurethane tread, combining the load-bearing strength of a solid metal core with a smooth, floor-friendly polyurethane rolling surface. The tread absorbs shock and reduces noise compared to a bare metal wheel, while the cast iron core keeps load capacity high across a wide size range — from 125 kg at the smallest size up to 900 kg at the largest.

Key Features

  • Cast iron core for high load capacity and dimensional stability under sustained loading
  • Bonded polyurethane tread reduces rolling noise and floor marking versus solid cast iron
  • Wide size range (75mm to 300mm) covers light trolleys through heavy industrial carts
  • Smooth ride on hard floors — concrete, tile, epoxy-coated surfaces

Applications
Material handling trolleys and carts, industrial workstation wheels, equipment requiring a metal-core wheel with a quieter tread than solid cast iron, moderate-to-heavy duty manufacturing floor equipment.

Installation / Mounting

  1. Confirm bore or stem type matches your axle/bracket (bore-mounted wheels need axle diameter matched; stem-mounted need thread/stem size matched) — [confirm mounting type against your actual product design].
  2. For bore-mounted wheels, align the wheel bore with the axle and secure with the retaining hardware appropriate to your frame (circlip, cotter pin, or nut, depending on axle type).
  3. Check the wheel spins freely with no side play before putting the equipment into service.
  4. Re-check torque/retention after the first period of use, as is standard practice for any new wheel fitment.

Selection Guidance
Match wheel diameter and width to your required load capacity using the specifications table above — larger diameter generally means easier rolling over uneven floors, while load capacity scales with both diameter and width. For continuous heavy-duty use, choose from the upper end of the size range (200mm+) rather than running smaller wheels at their rated maximum.

Why Excel Industries
Manufactured in-house with consistent bonding between the cast iron core and polyurethane tread, batch-tested for load capacity and finish before dispatch — see our Quality Policy for the full inspection process.
