Plastic Leg Bush
Short Product Introduction
Plastic leg bushes from Excel Industries are precision-moulded tube-end inserts that cap and protect the base of furniture legs, chair frames, and table supports. Pressed into the open end of a round or square metal tube, the bush spreads the load across the tube wall, protects flooring from scratches and dents, and gives the leg a finished, rounded foot. They’re a standard fitment across the furniture and metal-fabrication trade, supplied loose for OEM assembly or as a replacement/spare part.
Key Features
- Tapered stepped shank presses firmly into round or square tube ends without adhesive
- Rounded, flared base distributes point-load across a wider footprint, reducing floor marking
- Smooth moulded finish — no burrs or flash at the tube-fit shoulder
- Available in round-socket (1″, 1.25″) and square-socket (1.5″) versions to match common furniture tube profiles
- Consistent wall thickness across a production run — [Specification to be confirmed: exact tolerance]

Applications
- Base fitment for chair and stool legs (round or square tube frames)
- Table and workbench leg ends
- Metal furniture frames, trolleys, and racking with tubular legs needing a protective, non-marking foot
- Replacement/spare part supply for furniture manufacturers and repair shops
Industries Served
- Furniture Manufacturing
- Commercial Kitchens (where tubular-leg equipment is used) — [Confirm if applicable]
- OEM Manufacturing (bulk supply to furniture OEMs)
Installation / Mounting
- Confirm the outer dimension of the tube leg matches the bush’s socket size (round: 1″ or 1.25″; square: 1.5″).
- Ensure the tube end is clean, deburred, and free of weld spatter.
- Align the bush squarely with the tube axis.
- Press the bush into the tube end by hand or with a rubber mallet and a flat block of wood/plastic (do not strike the bush directly with metal tools) until the shoulder seats flush against the tube end.
- [Specification to be confirmed: whether an adhesive is recommended for permanent installation, or whether this is intended as a friction-fit-only item.]
Precaution: use a soft-faced mallet and a protective block — direct metal-on-plastic impact can crack the bush.
Selection Guidance
- Measure the tube outer diameter (round) or outer width (square) before ordering — bushes are sized to the tube, not the furniture model.
- Round tube legs → choose the 1″ or 1.25″ round variant matching your tube OD.
- Square tube legs → choose the 1.5″ square variant (confirm your tube OD matches; additional square sizes can be quoted as a custom run — see Custom Manufacturing).
- For heavier equipment (trolleys, workbenches) versus light chairs, confirm load rating with our team before specifying — [Specification to be confirmed].
